An established and well-regarded consultancy is expanding into ecology, creating multiple opportunities for Ecologists to join the Sydney team.
These roles are suited to consultants with 4–10+ years of local (NSW) experience, offering the chance to contribute to a growing national ecology capability across NSW, VIC, and QLD. You’ll combine hands-on technical work with opportunities to support team growth, contribute to business development, and help shape the direction of the ecology offering.

Role
You’ll work across a range of ecological projects, from BDARs to conservation and offset work, while helping to build capability and mentor junior team members as the team expands.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality ecological advice and technical reports across a range of projects.
- Undertake fieldwork including surveys, data collection, mapping, threatened species surveys, and PCT identification.
- Support the growth of the ecology team through client engagement and business development.
- Contribute to proposals and help build awareness of the consultancy’s ecological capabilities.
- Manage projects (or components), ensuring quality outcomes and strong client relationships.
- Mentor and support junior ecologists
You’re a proactive ecologist who enjoys both technical delivery and being part of a growing team. You’ll bring:
- 4–10 years’ experience in ecological consultancy (NSW experience essential)
- A degree in Ecology or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of NSW ecological frameworks, species identification, and assessment
- Experience delivering reports and managing projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior staff (desirable for more senior candidates)
