This is an exciting opportunity to join a reputable renewable energy team as an Environment and Development Planner (or Senior level), where you’ll oversee approvals for renewable energy projects, lead stakeholder engagement, mentor a high-performing team, and deliver sustainable, high-quality projects that contribute meaningfully to Australia’s clean energy future.

Responsibilities:
  • Planning & Approvals: Coordinate, lead, and advise on planning and environmental permit applications, reviewing technical reports and managing development timelines.
  • Project Support: Collaborate with the Development Team to provide accurate project information, identify opportunities and constraints, and prioritise projects.
  • Environmental Compliance: Implement and monitor environmental compliance across projects, driving high standards internally and with contractors.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Lead or support interactions with regulators, councils, NGOs, landowners, and communities, managing consultation and agreements for approvals.
  • Financial Oversight: Assist with project and operational budgets, cost management, and ensure compliance with landowner agreements alongside Finance and Asset Management Teams.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster effective relationships across the business, support company objectives, and contribute positively to organisational goals.
Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience leading planning and environmental projects, coordinating diverse technical inputs across teams and consultants.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian development requirements and environmental regulations.
  • Skilled in engaging regulatory authorities and stakeholders on complex matters.
  • Solid understanding of energy or infrastructure project development.
  • Confident decision-maker, balancing commercial and technical considerations.
  • Experienced in risk assessment and developing effective action plans.
