I'm representing a well financed developer of renewable energy projects, in their search for a Development Manager.
About the Role
I'm seeking a well versed Development Manager to work on BESS/Solar PV projects at different stages. My client is a relatively new entry to the market but has secured a large PV/BESS project which will be the main focus of the role. On top of that they have 10+ additional projects in different phases. They have a preference for an engineering or planning background, however others will be considered depending on relatable experience. You will need to be comfortable working autonomously in a small team, although the business will be going through an organic growth phase.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning and development phases; site identification, environmental approvals, grid connection etc.
- Progress PV + BESS projects through to financial close
- Manage external consultants across a range of disciplines; technical/grid/enviro etc.
- Assist in conducting site assessments and feasibility studies to evaluate project potential.
- Manage and organize project documentation, permits, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in stakeholder engagement and community outreach efforts.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Planning etc).
- Direct renewable energy development experience (PV/BESS preferred)
- Knowledge of the approvals process for renewable projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with a range of stakeholders
- Good commercial acumen
- Willingness to travel when required
- Based in Sydney
