We’re seeking a Design Manager to lead the design function on large-scale projects, manage a diverse team, and ensure seamless delivery from concept through construction. This is a hands-on leadership role perfect for a proactive professional who thrives on autonomy and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee design for projects up to $100M, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to finalise designs and specifications
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, resolve design challenges, and ensure compliance with codes and standards
- Manage, mentor, and develop junior design staff, driving best-practice design coordination
- Influence design outcomes and support value engineering opportunities to optimise cost and functionality
- Bachelor’s in Architecture, Construction Management, or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in design management on large-scale projects, preferably in education, commercial, or mixed-use sectors
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Expertise in design coordination, building codes, construction processes, and contract requirements
- Proactive, autonomous, and capable of driving results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
