About the role
Reporting directly to the Company Directors, the Group Manager – Business Development & Technical Operations is a senior executive role responsible for driving revenue growth while overseeing the company’s technical delivery across all teams.
This is a unique hybrid position combining business development leadership with technical oversight, ensuring the business continues to win new work while maintaining high standards of project delivery.
Business development will be warm and not cold in its approach, the company has a wealth of contacts to access, pipeline trackers etc, ensuring a higher degree of success and conversion.
There will be financial incentives based on project wins and additional market opportunities secured.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading warm business development initiatives to drive revenue growth and secure new projects.
- Identifying and pursuing new client opportunities while strengthening existing relationships.
- Developing winning bids, proposals and strategic client presentations.
- Overseeing technical operations across teams to maintain quality, efficiency and delivery standards.
- Supporting Managers and Team Leaders with project delivery, quality control and technical guidance.
- Driving improvements to processes, procedures and operational efficiency.
- Supporting resource planning to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
About the candidate
Ideally you will have:
- Degree-qualified Engineer with relevant professional accreditation.
- Ideally 12+ years of experience within engineering consulting, including senior leadership exposure.
- Proven success in business development and winning project work.
- Strong technical engineering background with the ability to support project delivery.
- Commercially minded with strong strategic thinking ability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to connect technical solutions with commercial outcomes.
