Our client is a growing Independent Power Producer developing, owning and operating renewable energy assets across Australia. With an active pipeline of solar, battery energy storage and hybrid projects, the business is expanding its in-house transaction capability to support acquisitions, partnerships, financings and long-term asset growth.
About the role:
As a Transaction Manager / Deal Manager, you will take ownership of complex renewable energy transactions, including acquisitions, partnerships and project financings. A core component of the role is structuring transactions to optimise risk allocation, bankability and long-term value, across both single project and multi project transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Leads M&A transactions for solar, BESS, wind, and hybrid projects from origination to completion, including JV, asset, and portfolio deals.
- Designs and implements debt, equity, and transaction structures, managing funding scenarios, financial models, covenants, and bankability assessments.
- Coordinates cross-functional technical, legal, commercial, regulatory, and financial due diligence; reviews and negotiates NDAs, term sheets, SPAs, and JV agreements.
- Manages transaction timelines, data rooms, advisors, and internal stakeholders; prepares internal approval materials and ensures alignment with financing and investment objectives.
- Collaborates with internal teams to transition projects from transaction to delivery phase, gaining exposure to development activities and supporting sustainable project outcomes.
- Work closely with internal delivery teams, as well as lenders, equity partners and advisors, playing a key role in shaping how key projects are financed, acquired and delivered.
- 5–10+ years’ experience in M&A, project finance, transaction management, debt advisory or investment within renewables, infrastructure or energy.
- Demonstrated experience in transaction structuring, including debt and equity structures for project-financed assets.
- Strong understanding of project finance principles, bankability requirements and risk allocation.
- Experience working on renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS or hybrid assets) is highly desirable.
