About the role / duties
Key responsibilities include:
• Managing residential construction projects from site establishment through to completion and handover
• Running day-to-day site operations independently while coordinating closely with the Director and Project Manager
• Supervising subcontractors and trades to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
• Interpreting drawings and documentation, identifying discrepancies, and driving solutions on site
• Planning and maintaining short-term construction programmes and pushing works to meet key milestones
• Managing multiple sites over time (initially one, with the capacity to grow to two or three concurrent projects)
• Leading daily pre-starts and coordinating subcontractor meetings
• Maintaining accurate site records including diaries, safety inspections, and toolbox talks using site software systems
• Monitoring quality of workmanship and ensuring finishes meet project and company standards
• Managing site safety systems, risk assessments, and WHS compliance
• Liaising with clients, consultants, and stakeholders as a professional and solutions-focused site lead
• Assisting with procurement of minor items and monitoring site preliminaries and resources
• Supporting apprentices and junior team members, including providing guidance and on-site training
• Contributing to ongoing improvements in site systems, processes, and overall project delivery
  
Skills & Experience
• 10+ years’ experience managing construction sites, ideally across high-end residential projects
• Commercial project exposure highly regarded, with strong understanding of structure, sequencing, and buildability
• Proven ability to run a site independently and confidently drive programme and productivity
• Strong technical ability with drawings, specifications, and on-site problem solving
• Experience managing subcontractors across multiple trades and coordinating complex site activities
• Confident using construction software for site management and reporting (BuildPass experience a strong advantage)
• Solid understanding of WHS requirements and quality assurance processes
• Previous experience overseeing or mentoring apprentices and junior trades preferred
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust with clients and project stakeholders
• Organised, proactive, and solutions-focused with a high level of ownership

Salary
$140k – $160k per annum + Super (commensurate with experience)
