We are seeking two experienced WHS/OHS professionals to support a large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project during the electrical commissioning phase. These roles are site-based and will play a critical part in ensuring safe systems of work, compliance with WHS legislation, and effective permitting and commissioning controls throughout shift operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite WHS support during electrical commissioning activities
- Manage and review high-risk work permits, isolations, and energisation processes
- Monitor contractor compliance with WHS legislation, procedures, and project requirements
- Support incident prevention, hazard identification, and risk mitigation activities
- Engage with project teams to ensure safe work practices across shift swings
- Maintain accurate WHS records and reporting
- Formal OHS/WHS qualifications (Certificate IV minimum)
- Demonstrated experience in electrical commissioning environments
- Strong background in permit to work systems, isolations, and energisation controls
- Experience on major construction or energy infrastructure projects (BESS experience highly regarded)
- Ability to work autonomously onsite and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders
- Start date: January
- Duration: Likely through to mid-year
- Shifts:
- 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday
- Likely 6-hour shifts on Saturdays
- No Sunday work currently planned
- Rosters: Flexible, however continuous onsite coverage is required
