Senior Environmental Consultant – Approvals & Compliance (Renewable Energy & Infrastructure)
Location: Sydney NSW / Flexible Hybrid
Salary: $150,000–$200,000 + super (flexible depending on experience)


About the Role:
Join a leading consultancy delivering high-profile renewable energy and infrastructure projects across Australia. In this senior role, you will lead environmental approvals, compliance, and planning for nationally significant wind, solar, and transmission projects.

You’ll mentor mid-level consultants, influence project delivery, and play a pivotal role in shaping Australia’s renewable energy future. This role is ideal for a senior consultant with the experience and ambition to operate at a Principal-level in the near future, or for the right candidate come in at a Principle level.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead environmental approvals and compliance for large-scale renewable energy and infrastructure projects
  • Prepare and review EIA reports, management plans, and regulatory submissions
  • Mentor and develop mid-level consultants, providing technical guidance and leadership
  • Liaise with regulators, clients, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Influence project strategy and contribute to business development initiatives
Requirements:
  • 8+ years’ experience in environmental consultancy or client-side project delivery
  • Proven experience in approvals, planning, and compliance for renewable energy or Tier 1 infrastructure projects
  • Strong leadership, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • REAP (Registered Environmental Assessment Practitioner) accreditation desirable but not essential
  • Candidates with proven experience in approvals and environmental assessment will be strongly considered
