About the Role

They are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to oversee all site-based HSE requirements through onsite HSE Advisors. This role is critical in ensuring all construction, commissioning, and energisation activities comply with the company’s HSE Management System, project contracts, and relevant State and Federal WHS legislation. You will manage HSE resources to ensure the safety of employees and subcontractors while driving continuous improvement in HSE performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all sites implement HSE processes as outlined in the “Start New Project” process in IMS for employees, contractors, clients, and visitors.
  • Manage compliance of site-based SWMS, Risk Assessments, SWIs, SOPs, and Permits.
  • Develop and maintain a site HSE calendar aligned with fortnightly Toolbox Talks.
  • Review incident and hazard reporting, ensuring quality investigations and corrective actions.
  • Conduct Senior Management monthly inspections as part of HSE KPIs.
  • Ensure 6-monthly emergency evacuation drills are completed on sites.
  • Submit hazard reports as required.
  • Develop and review SWMS, SOPs, SWIs, Risk Assessments, and permits.
  • Monitor site compliance with client-based HSE reporting requirements.
  • Manage site-based HSE audits for clients, authorities, and third parties.
  • Assist in implementing the business plan.
  • Travel to both construction and O&M sites to ensure compliance with HSE systems.
To Be Successful Qualifications & Experience:
  • Construction White Card.
  • Proven experience in the construction industry, ideally in electrical, renewable energy, or solar projects.
  • Sound knowledge of safety protocols and WHS legislation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, with strong problem-solving and project management abilities.
  • Right to work in Australia.
  • Minimum Diploma in HSE.
Desirable:
  • Experience with medium voltage systems and renewable energy technologies.
  • Familiarity with project management, quality, and safety software/tools.
  • LVR / CPR Certificate.
  • First Aid Certificate.
