We are recruiting an Electrical Drafter to join a specialist renewable energy engineering consultancy. This role will support the Utility Engineering team and work closely with the Lead Utility Engineer on solar, BESS and utility-scale projects.
The position suits an experienced drafter who enjoys producing clear, accurate construction-ready drawings and working alongside engineers in a technical environment.
About the Role
As an Electrical Drafter, you will be responsible for:
- Producing AutoCAD electrical and site plan drawings for solar PV, BESS and related infrastructure.
- Preparing layouts, cable routes, equipment locations, earthing plans and construction documentation.
- Supporting engineers by translating design intent into accurate, coordinated drawings.
- Applying and maintaining drawing standards, layers, blocks and templates.
- Using LISP routines to improve drafting efficiency and consistency.
- Assisting with drawing updates, revisions and as-built documentation.
- Potentially working with PVcase for site layouts and array design
About You
You will likely have:
- Strong AutoCAD experience producing electrical and site drawings.
- Confidence using LISP functions to streamline drafting workflows.
- Experience preparing drawings for solar, electrical, or infrastructure projects.
- Good understanding of layers, blocks, Xrefs and drawing control.
- Ability to work closely with engineers and respond to technical mark-ups.
- A detail-focused approach and pride in producing clean, buildable drawings.
