About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Planner or Senior Planner to join the Brisbane team and contribute to a growing portfolio of renewable energy and development projects. You’ll manage approvals and assessments across solar, wind, battery storage and transmission projects, as well as a mix of urban and built-form developments.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate development applications under State and local planning frameworks.
- Lead planning approvals for large-scale renewable energy and infrastructure projects.
- Provide statutory and strategic planning advice across complex approval pathways.
- Prepare and manage EA applications, SARA referrals, Operational Works and related approvals.
- Liaise and negotiate with councils, State agencies and other regulatory authorities.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to deliver integrated project outcomes.
- Support client relationships and contribute to successful project delivery.
- Degree in Urban & Regional Planning or related field.
- Strategic and dynamic thinker with a proactive, solutions-driven approach
- Demonstrated experience in managing development approvals for large-scale infrastructure, civil projects, utilities, transmission, community, mining, dredging and port related projects
- Strong experience and understanding of the QLD planning and environmental approvals process
- Experience in renewable energy projects, including BESS, solar, wind and transmission infrastructure (desirable but not essential)
- Preparation of Environmental Authority (EA) Applications under the Environmental Protection Act and ERAs
- Experience with Operational Works applications for Tidal Works
- SARA referrals and State Interest considerations
- Ability to negotiate with State Agencies, port and airport regulatory bodies
- Experience with Ministerial Infrastructure Designations
- Interest in building new and maintaining client relationships
