The Opportunity
As a Senior Contracts Administrator you will play a critical role in managing the commercial and contractual aspects of large, complex industrial and commercial projects ranging from $10M - $50M.
You will be responsible for overseeing procurement, contracts administration, and financial management, ensuring projects are delivered profitably, compliantly, and to the highest standards.
What You Will Do
- Lead the preparation, negotiation, and administration of subcontractor and supplier contracts for large scale new build projects
- Oversee procurement activities including trade package preparation, tender reviews, and contract awards
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow, ensuring alignment with financial targets
- Manage and review progress claims, variations, and payment schedules in line with contractual obligations
- Provide commercial and contractual advice to project managers
- Liaise with subcontractors, consultants, and clients
- Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, building codes, and workplace health and safety legislation
- Mentor and support junior contracts administrators to build capability
- 5-10 years of experience in contracts administration or commercial management within construction, ideally on large scale new build projects
- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management or a related discipline
- Advanced knowledge of contracts, procurement processes, and commercial management principles
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience in forecasting, cost control, and reporting
- Proficiency in Cheopps or JobPac
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong leadership capability with experience mentoring or guiding junior staff
