Join a leading provider of crane and mobile plant solutions servicing industrial, warehousing, and construction sectors across Australia. We’re looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee our busy workshop, lead a skilled team, and ensure all equipment is maintained to the highest safety and operational standards.
You'll be responsible for managing workshop operations, supervising staff, coordinating repairs and projects, and maintaining compliance and quality across all work.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, inspect, and oversee repairs on cranes & mobile plant
- Plan, schedule, and allocate workshop projects to meet deadlines efficiently.
- Prepare and provide quotations for proposed repairs and projects.
- Supervise and coordinate workshop staff, manage timesheets, and conduct performance reviews.
- Manage workflow and coordinate with 3rd party contractors and parts suppliers.
- Ensure all work meets compliance, safety, and OEM standards.
- Handle after-hours calls as required and maintain a safe, productive workshop environment.
- Maintain accurate service records, reports, and workshop documentation.
- Certificate III (or equivalent) in Mobile Plant Mechanics, Diesel, or related mechanical trade.
- 5+ years’ experience in a mobile plant, Crane or heavy equipment workshop, with Branch/ Workshop Manager or lead head hand experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, electrics, and heavy vehicle/plant equipment.
- Familiarity with workshop management software and MS Office.
- Leadership and team management experience.
- Current Driver’s Licence and ability to travel to client sites when required.
