About the Role
Our client is seeking commissioning engineers and testers to undergo full lifecycle commissioning from FAT/SAT, dry, and wet testing stages for HV infrastructure, renewable energy systems and data centre projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support commissioning activities on HV substations, renewable energy and data centre sites
- Develop and manage commissioning documentation: plans, schedules, ITPs, ITRs, FAT and SAT
- Conduct protection testing (e.g., transformer diff, line distance, CB fail) using Omicron/Doble test equipment
- Perform SCADA and signal testing, verify control system functionality
- Test substation primary equipment including CBs, CTs, CVTs, and power transformers
- Collaborate with engineering, grid compliance, and external stakeholders (TNSPs, AEMO, OEMs)
- Oversee safe energisation procedures and ensure full compliance with regulations
- Support reporting, investigations, and model validation testing where required
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Advanced Diploma in Power Systems
- Minimum 2 years' commissioning/testing experience across HV or renewable infrastructure
- Strong understanding of protection and control systems, substation operation, and grid-connected renewables
- Familiarity with AEMO guidelines, R2 testing, and GPS compliance (desirable)
- Experience working under or with Australian TNSPs (Ausnet, Powerlink, Transgrid, Electranet) preferred
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- EA membership or intention to apply (desirable)
