My client controls every aspect of the development and construction process including site acquisition, concept design, design development, authority approvals, construction feasibility and management, marketing, sales and post-settlement services.
  
Your new role

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join an established developer / builder located in the heart of the city.  
Reporting to the Estimating Manager, this pivotal role is responsible for providing detailed cost plans and estimates for medium to high-density residential construction projects, ensuring all aspects of each project are accurately measured and costed.
You will play a key role, working closely with our Cost Planning and Construction teams, as well as subcontractors and consultants, to ensure budgets are robust, realistic, and aligned with our quality and commercial objectives.
Key responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage accurate cost plans and estimates for residential and mixed-use construction projects.
  • Establish and maintain project budgets, including updates following design changes.
  • Conduct detailed take-offs and trade package measurements.
  • Review subcontractor tenders and proposals to ensure alignment with project estimates.
  • Support value management, cost forecasting and design option analysis.
  • Maintain a high standard of compliance with Company’s safety, environmental and quality policies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and professional development within the Estimating team.
About you

You are a highly experienced Estimator or Quantity Surveyor with strong technical and commercial acumen, known for your precision and ability to work collaboratively across functions. You thrive in a dynamic environment and take pride in delivering accurate, data-driven insights that support project success.

Role requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in construction, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5-10  years’ experience in the medium to high-density residential building sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in construction estimating or quantity surveying.
  • Strong knowledge of estimating software and current market rates.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
