About the Role:
They are seeking a proactive WHS Coordinator on a 2-year contract based in Bomaderry. This role is key to ensuring the safety and compliance of all construction projects, both major and minor, while supporting the broader Work, Health, and Safety team. The successful candidate will have a trade or construction background and proven experience in WHS management within complex operating environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor construction projects for compliance with WHS legislation and company procedures.
- Undertake site inspections, review SWMS, ATWs, site permits, and Construction, Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Plans.
- Identify hazards, investigate incidents, and prepare safety alerts.
- Maintain compliance documentation and assist in developing new WHS policies and procedures.
- Liaise with project managers, site supervisors, contractors, and the WHS team to ensure safety standards are met.
- Participate in weekly team meetings and report on key project safety outcomes.
- Uphold food safety, WHS, and environmental standards across all operational areas.
- Trade background with 10+ years in the construction industry.
- Previous experience in a WHS role on construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and ISO 45001 standards.
- Experience in complex operational environments, ideally manufacturing or construction.
- Diploma or Cert IV in WHS (or equivalent).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of effective stakeholder communication and influence.
- Desirable: First Aid certificate, Drug & Alcohol testing accreditation, ISO 9001 Auditor certification.
