About the role

This is a newly created role due to the successful, ongoing growth of the company.  Supporting the Payroll Manager, you will help process contractor payroll for a large and expanding contractor base.  You will deal with front end payroll enquiries from the workforce, helping to triage issues that arise and either resolving or escalating the enquiries.  Using the Astute payroll software, you will help process weekly payroll for the contractor base.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with end-to-end contractor payroll processing using Astute.
  • Handle phone and email queries from contractors in a timely and professional manager
  • Assist contractor timesheets and approvals.
  • Generate invoices and process payments in line with agreed terms.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll tax, superannuation, PAYG, and other statutory obligations.
  • Support the finance team with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and audit requirements.
  • General administration and payroll ad-hoc tasks
 Key Requirements
  • Experience in payroll or accounts administration, ideally for a recruitment agency.
  • Understanding of time sheet based payroll, taxation, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel; Xero experience desirable but not essential.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work within a team environment.
  • Practical experience with Astute - desirable but not essential.
