Access & Materials Handling Mechanic
Permanent Role | National Hire Company | Workshop + Field Work

Join a leading national equipment hire company supplying EWP, forklifts, and access machinery to major construction, infrastructure, logistics, and industrial projects across Australia. We’re seeking an experienced Mechanic / Technician to service, diagnose, and repair a modern fleet of boom lifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers, forklifts, and materials handling equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service, inspect, and repair EWP and forklift equipment (electric, LPG, diesel)
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults across fleet machinery
  • Respond to breakdowns and conduct field service call-outs as required
  • Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance, safety checks, and compliance inspections
  • Complete accurate job cards, service reports, and pre/post-hire documentation
  • Liaise with service coordinators for parts, scheduling, and customer updates
  • Maintain high workshop standards and adhere to WHS and AS2550 requirements
What You’ll Need
  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical, Plant, Heavy Vehicle, or Auto Trade
  • 3–5+ years’ experience with EWP, forklifts, telehandlers, or lifting equipment
  • Strong fault-finding skills across hydraulics, engines, and electrical systems
  • Forklift Licence (LF) & White Card – Essential
  • EWP / High-Risk Work Licence (CN, WP, DG) – Highly regarded
  • Current Driver’s Licence – HR/MR beneficial
  • Ability to travel for call-outs and independent field service work
  • Able to pass a pre-employment medical and D&A screen
