About The Role
The Electrical Site Engineer oversees civil and mechanical works on utility-scale solar and BESS projects, ensuring they are delivered safely and in line with design specifications, project requirements, and relevant standards. The role requires strong coordination with contractors, design consultants, and the broader project team. It plays a critical part in ensuring quality execution and timely completion of all site-based activities.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Manage all electrical activities on-site during construction and commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with design, safety standards, and project timelines.
- Supervise contractors, subcontractors, and commissioning teams.
- Inspect and test electrical installations (cabling, PV, BESS, transformers, switchgear).
- Enforce safety procedures and lead toolbox talks.
- Monitor safe use of tools, equipment, and temporary power systems.
- Review material handling, storage, and compliance with specifications.
- Provide progress updates, reports, and documentation.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and support design teams with solutions.
- Coordinate system integration and ensure smooth transition to operations.
- Support audits, claim assessments, and approvals.
- Contribute to process improvements and project efficiency.
Qualifications And Experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years’ site experience.
- Knowledge of HV/MV/LV systems, PV, BESS, and grid works.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Solid understanding of HSE and quality systems.
- Organised, problem-solver, and willing to travel.
