About the role

This is a newly created role due to the successful, ongoing growth of the company.  Supporting the Payroll Manager, you will help process contractor payroll for a large and expanding contractor base.  You will deal with front end payroll enquiries from the workforce, helping to triage issues that arise and either resolving or escalating the enquiries.  Using the Astute payroll software, you will help process weekly payroll for the contractors base.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with end-to-end contractor payroll processing using Astute.
  • Handle phone and email queries from contractors in a timely and professional manager
  • Validate and reconcile contractor timesheets and approvals.
  • Generate invoices and process payments in line with agreed terms.
  • Maintain accurate contractor records, including onboarding, compliance documents, and contract variations.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll tax, superannuation, PAYG, and other statutory obligations.
  • Support the finance team with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and audit requirements.
 Key Requirements
  • 1-2 years' experience in payroll or accounts administration, ideally in labour hire or contractor services.
  • Practical experience with Astute.
  • Understanding of contractor payroll, taxation, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail with high accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Xero experience desirable.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work within a team environment.
