We’re looking for a Defects Supervisor to join a well-established contractor with over 30 years in the industry. Family-owned and led by two hands-on directors, the business has a strong reputation for delivering quality residential projects and maintaining a genuine team culture, with many staff staying on for 10+ years. They run around three projects at a time to ensure quality and financial stability, currently delivering developments across Sydney including the South West, Inner City, Western Sydney, and the St George area.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading the defects and maintenance process, ensuring issues are identified and resolved quickly and professionally, while creating a smooth and supportive experience for clients, owners, and residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing all defects, remedial, and maintenance works
- Carrying out inspections, identifying leaks, pressure testing, and managing rectification works
- Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring works are completed on time and to a high standard
- Managing communication with owners, strata managers, and residents – delivering a professional and supportive approach
- Maintaining compliance with statutory requirements and preparing reports for senior management
- Representing the business positively and professionally at all times
- Carpentry background or hands-on trade experience (preferred)
- Experience in defects, remedial, or post-construction client services
- Strong technical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to put people at ease
- Professional presentation and confidence dealing with owners, strata, and developers
- Ability to manage subcontractors and ensure compliance with head contract obligations
