Our client is a well-established and respected food manufacturing organisation based in Wetherill Park. With a strong reputation for quality and consistency, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their maintenance team on a full-time day shift.
 
 
The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of production machinery and bakery equipment. This position combines traditional fitting duties with welding and light fabrication tasks, supporting both preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Conduct preventative and reactive maintenance on production and packaging equipment.
• Perform mechanical fitting, fault finding, and equipment repairs to minimise downtime.
• Undertake welding and basic fabrication tasks (MIG/TIG or stick) as required.
• Assist with machine upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment in line with company and industry standards.

 
Skills & Experience

• Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter (Certificate III or equivalent).
• Proven welding and light fabrication experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Previous experience in food manufacturing or FMCG (highly regarded but not essential).
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
