This position operates on a rotating roster, shared fairly among the team to ensure balanced coverage and time for life outside of work.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Monitor & Control: Use SCADA systems to oversee renewable assets, responding to events in the Australian National Electricity Market.
- Stay Proactive: Respond to plant and market notifications while working closely with your teammates to keep operations running smoothly.
- Connect with Stakeholders: Build relationships with Transmission and Network Service Providers (TNSP), AEMO, and other key partners.
- Weather & Safety: Monitor forecast systems, issue alerts, and respond to emergency calls with calm and confidence.
- Insights & Reporting: Contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports, helping inform smarter decisions.
- Maximise Availability: Work with O&M Contractors to maintain asset availability and strong operational relationships.
- Drive Improvements: Support maintenance planning, outage coordination, and ongoing improvements to systems and procedures.
- Education: Degree in engineering, data science, commerce, or a similar field.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong skills in Excel and data analysis, with a detail-oriented and thoughtful approach.
- Team Spirit: A collaborative mindset—someone who enjoys problem-solving together and supporting colleagues.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a 24/7/365 shift-based environment, with shared responsibilities across the team.
- Resilience: Able to stay focused and calm under pressure, while maintaining a positive approach.
- Communication: Clear and confident in English (spoken and written).
- Bonus Experience: Previous experience in a trading desk or control centre is highly regarded.
