We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist organisation delivering turnkey, outcome-based solutions in the Energy and Utilities sectors. With a strong footprint across Power, Gas, Water, and Renewables, they focus on enabling long-term, sustainable improvements across the value chain.
They are currently seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to support the delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects – including Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) – across multiple sites in Australia.
This 5-month contract role will support both delivery and grid connection phases of utility-scale projects and will involve working closely with OEMs, site contractors, and network service providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate hot commissioning activities across solar and BESS assets
- Ensure readiness for commissioning, including completion of mechanical and cold commissioning
- Develop and implement Testing & Commissioning Plans integrating OEM and Balance of Plant components
- Coordinate Hold Point testing and manage grid connection processes with NSPs and AEMO
- Lead troubleshooting and manage data collection to address GPS compliance and connection issues
- Collaborate with internal project teams, delivery partners, and external stakeholders
- Support transition from project development to execution, and assist in scope changes or contract variations
- Input into scheduling, risk assessments, scope documentation, and procurement planning
- Proven commissioning experience in utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects
- Working knowledge of AEMO grid connection processes in the Australian market
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the renewable energy sector
- Strong understanding of QA, HSE, and commissioning procedures
- Background in EPC project environments is highly desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification preferred
- Willingness to travel to project sites across Australia as required
