Join a leading national plant hire company supplying cranes and lifting equipment to major infrastructure, construction, and civil projects across Australia. We’re on the hunt for a skilled Crane Mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of high-performance mobile and tower cranes.

Our client is a well-established hire and lifting solutions provider, with a reputation for quality gear and reliable service. They work with tier-one contractors, government projects, and private clients, offering both dry and wet hire across slewing cranes, pick and carry cranes, tower cranes, and rough-terrain machines.

You'll be responsible for servicing and repairs in the workshop and out on-site, keeping downtime to a minimum and ensuring equipment is compliant, safe, and ready to go.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • Service, inspect, and repair a range of mobile and tower cranes
  • Diagnose faults in hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
  • Respond to field breakdowns and emergency call-outs as needed
  • Carry out pre-hire inspections and post-job assessments
  • Work with the service team to plan jobs and order parts
  • Ensure all repairs meet compliance, safety, and OEM standards
  • Maintain accurate service records and job documentation
  • Support workshop operations and assist in major repairs or rebuilds
What You’ll Need
  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Diesel Fitter / Heavy Vehicle / Plant Mechanic)
  • 3–5+ years’ experience working on cranes (slewing, tower, pick & carry, crawler, or similar)
  • Strong working knowledge of crane hydraulics, slew systems, engines, winches, and electrics
  • Familiarity with brands like Liebherr, Tadano, Terex, Franna, Demag, Manitowoc or similar
  • White Card (Construction Induction) – Essential
  • High-Risk Licence (CN, C6, or equivalent) – Desirable
  • Current Driver’s Licence – Essential
  • Ability to work autonomously and travel to client sites when required
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screen
