Join a leading national equipment hire company supporting warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, and construction projects across Australia. We’re looking for an experienced Forklift Engineer to maintain and repair a modern fleet of forklifts and materials handling equipment.
Our client is a well-established and growing hire provider known for supplying reliable, well-maintained forklifts and lifting equipment to tier-one contractors, industrial clients, and commercial operations. With a strong presence across the country, they offer both short- and long-term hire for electric, LPG, diesel, and high-capacity forklifts, as well as telehandlers, pallet movers, and more.
You’ll be responsible for servicing and repairing a variety of lifting equipment both in the workshop and on client sites, with some travel to metro and regional locations as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled servicing, fault-finding, and repairs on forklifts and lifting equipment
- Diagnose issues across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Respond to breakdowns both on-site and in the field when needed
- Coordinate with service staff for parts, job planning, and priority scheduling
- Complete accurate service reports and job cards
- Inspect machines before and after hire to ensure safety and performance
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following WHS procedures
- Support the workshop team with general maintenance tasks
- Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Forklift, Diesel, or Plant Mechanic)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working on forklifts, telehandlers, or materials handling equipment
- Strong diagnostics skills across hydraulics, LPG/diesel engines, and electrics
- Forklift Licence (LF) – Essential
- White Card (Construction Induction) – Essential
- HR or MR Driver’s Licence – Desirable
- High-Risk Work Licences (EWP, CN) – Highly regarded
- Ability to travel for servicing and call-outs when required
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
