About the Role

As a Senior HSEQ Advisor, you will play a critical role in driving a proactive health, safety, environment, and quality culture across all operations. You will work closely with site and operational teams to implement robust risk management processes, ensure compliance with legislation and client requirements, and support the delivery of safe and sustainable projects. This role requires a balance of hands-on site engagement and system-focused responsibilities, offering you the opportunity to directly influence safety outcomes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of HSEQ policies, procedures, and management systems.
  • Maintain and update HSEQ documentation, including Lucidity Software, SWMS, risk assessments, training records, and audit findings.
  • Provide guidance and support to operational and site-based teams.
  • Undertake site audits, inspections, and incident investigations, including corrective action planning.
  • Coordinate and deliver HSEQ training, inductions, and toolbox sessions.
  • Stay current with health, safety, and environmental legislation, ensuring organisational compliance.
  • Lead subcontractor assessment, onboarding, and compliance monitoring.
  • Support tender preparation and submissions in consultation with the Head of HSEQ.
  • Assist with emergency response planning, injury management, and workers’ compensation documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement in HSEQ performance across all projects.
To Be Successful
  • A minimum Cert IV in Work Health and Safety (Diploma desirable).
  • Background in construction, mining, oil & gas, or related industries.
  • Experience with incident investigation methodologies (ICAM, Taproot, Comet etc).
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in maintaining HSEQ records and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and drive a positive safety culture.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to adapt quickly to new systems (experience with client software highly regarded).
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
