The Role
Due to a strong pipeline we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Manage to join their team. As a Design Manager you will play a vital role in overseeing and coordinating the design process managing multiple projects ranging from $40M - $80M from preconstruction to delivery.
Your Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the design process for education projects, ensuring adherence to project requirements, timelines, and budgets.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop and finalize design plans, specifications, and construction documents.
- Review architectural drawings, blueprints, and other technical documents to ensure accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, identify design-related issues, and provide necessary guidance and solutions.
- Work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to address design changes, modifications, and value engineering opportunities.
- Assist in the selection and procurement of materials, finishes, and fixtures that align with project specifications, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.
- Participate in design coordination meetings and provide updates on design-related matters to project stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of design decisions, approvals, and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in architecture and construction.
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of post-graduate experience working on construction projects, preferably in the commercial or industrial sector.
- Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, building codes, and construction processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse project teams.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in design coordination.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
- Familiarity with sustainable design practices and LEED certification is a plus.
