About the Role
This position is ideal for a proactive and skilled tradesperson who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves. You'll be working alongside a small team of experienced tradespeople and reporting directly to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager. The role focuses on both preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of production equipment in a busy manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct mechanical maintenance, fault finding and repairs on production and site equipment.
- Assist with breakdown response to minimise downtime and maintain efficiency.
- Carry out preventative maintenance in accordance with scheduled plans.
- Perform fitting, assembly, and alignment of mechanical components and systems.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant safety regulations and site procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with equipment upgrades or modifications.
- Maintain accurate service records and contribute to a safe work culture.
- Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter (Australia-recognised).
- Previous experience in a similar role within FMCG or food manufacturing (highly desirable).
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding ability.
- Welding and fabrication skills advantageous.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and a true team player.
- Must be hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Competitive hourly rate - up to $50/hour
- Early start and finish - 5:00am to 1:30pm, Monday to Friday
