We are seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager to take ownership of the technical front-end of major projects in the ground improvement and geotechnical engineering space. This role will be key to shaping our approach to winning and delivering technically challenging projects, bringing structure, strategy, and consistency to our preconstruction process.
You’ll be at the heart of how we plan, price, and prepare — translating complex buildability challenges into clear, cost-effective methodologies that set our delivery teams up for success.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Lead the development of construction methodologies, staging plans, and site logistics for complex environments.
  • Collaborate with internal teams across slope stabilisation, grouting, difficult access drilling, and geotechnical sampling.
  • Interface with suppliers, designers, contractors, engineers, and clients to resolve technical issues early.
  • Write and review high-quality submission content for EOIs, tenders, and negotiated proposals.
  • Represent the business at tender interviews and site inspections.
  • Develop a library of methodologies and staging strategies for future use.
  • Identify opportunities to value engineer and optimise project costs without compromising quality.
  • Prequalify suppliers and subcontractors, manage bidding processes, and negotiate favourable terms.
  • Ensure robust risk identification and mitigation strategies are built into every offer.
  • Handover preconstruction plans and documentation seamlessly to delivery teams.
What you’ll bring:
  • Proven expertise in buildability, sequencing, and technical problem-solving.
  • Strong written skills and the ability to create persuasive methodology narratives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including MS Project and tender programming.
  • Methodical approach to planning, tracking, and execution — self-sufficient yet collaborative.
  • Willingness to travel frequently as required.
Why this role?

You’ll be joining a specialist engineering business poised for significant growth, working on some of the most technically challenging and rewarding projects in the industry. This is a senior role with real influence over project strategy, methodology, and delivery success.

Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Permanent, full-time
Travel: High levels expected
