About the role
You will be in charge of the operations and maintenance for the Solar Farm located near Armidale. Your main responsibility will be to managing all aspects of the site's safety, performance, compliance, and stakeholder relations. This is a full-time, site-based opportunity, so the right candidate will need to relocate for the role.
Responsibilities
- Manage all facets of the solar farm’s operations, including safety, environment, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Promote a positive HSE culture and provide strong HSE leadership.
- Lead and support the site team collaboratively.
- Oversee the smooth transition from construction to operations.
- Supervise contractors to ensure high-quality services and HSE compliance.
- Plan and manage all O&M activities within budget and timelines.
- Optimize solar farm production to maximize revenue.
- Implement best practices to reduce downtime and costs.
- Respond to emergencies outside core working hours as needed.
- Manage relationships with the community and landowners.
- Collaborate with Central Support teams and maintain strong internal relations.
- Support operations projects and contribute to leadership across the department.
- Develop, review, and approve site documents, procedures, and policies.
- Relevant degree or trade qualification
- 5+ years’ experience in asset management or a similar role.
- Experience with renewable energy generation assets (beneficial).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
- Knowledge of Australian regulatory compliance and reporting for generators (beneficial).
- Proven experience preparing and managing operational expenditure budgets.
- Skilled in supervising external service providers.
- Sound understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems related to energy generation assets.
- Applied knowledge of reporting systems.
