We are looking for steel fixers for a position with a market-leading stormwater drainage company. We are looking for people with extensive construction experience and the willingness to learn/follow direction. Suitable candidates must be able to work on their own initiative and problem-solve on-site to get the work completed. Working in the company’s Stapylton warehouse, you will be responsible for cutting, bending, tying, and assembling reinforcing steel (reo) for precast concrete cages used in stormwater infrastructure.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting basic reo schedules and cage diagrams
- Cutting, bending and tying reo to spec
- Assembling reo cages accurately and efficiently
- Working closely with the production team to meet daily targets
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Previous experience as a steel fixer or reo worker (preferably in precast or construction)
- Confident using hand tools and cutting/bending equipment
- Ability to read and interpret basic plans
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
