Are you a seasoned environmental consultant looking to step into a leadership role with real influence? We’re recruiting for a Lead Environmental Consultant to join a growing consultancy based in Newcastle, known for its technical excellence and commitment to safety and sustainability.
This full-time position offers the opportunity to take ownership of technically complex projects, support a high-performing team, and deliver outcomes that matter across environmental risk, contaminated land, and hazardous materials management.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead end-to-end environmental projects, from scope development through to close-out.
- Deliver technical consulting work in line with relevant legislation, standards, and client expectations.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, representing the business at meetings, audits, and briefings.
- Prepare or review reports, sampling plans, SWMS, and risk assessments with precision and compliance in mind.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records, sampling data, and project documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, business development, and service innovation.
- Degree-qualified in Environmental Science or a related field.
- Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP) – essential.
- Licensed Asbestos Assessor – essential.
- Minimum 10 years of consulting experience, with strong capabilities in contaminated land and hazardous materials.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client-facing skills.
- A hands-on, proactive approach and a passion for high-quality delivery.
