OHS/WHS Advisor – BESS Project
6-Month Contract | Near Frankston, VIC | Local Drive-In/Drive-Out | Monday–Friday, 10-hr Days + Optional Saturday

Are you a safety-focused professional with a strong electrical background and experience in high-risk energy environments? We’re currently seeking an OHS/WHS Advisor to join a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project near Frankston, Victoria.

This site-based role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on one of Australia’s leading renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance and safety standards are upheld at every stage.

Key Details:
  • Contract: 6 months
  • Roster: Monday to Friday, 10-hour shifts (with potential for 5-hour Saturday shifts)
  • Location: Drive-in/drive-out – must be locally based
  • Start Date: 11th August or earlier
Essential Criteria:
  • Cert IV in Work Health & Safety (or equivalent)
  • Electrical trade or technical background
  • Extensive experience with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
  • Permit to Work system expertise
  • Solid site-based WHS experience, preferably in BESS or renewable energy
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS and environmental legislation
  • Current unrestricted Australian driver’s licence

About the Role: As HSE Coordinator, you'll work closely with the WHS Advisor to ensure all site operations meet legislative and company safety standards. You’ll liaise with site teams and contractors, provide expert guidance, and promote a proactive safety culture.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Daily support and guidance on WHS and environmental matters
  • Implementing site-specific HSE plans and company procedures
  • Monitoring compliance through audits, inspections, and KPI reviews
  • Managing incident investigations and maintaining EHS records
  • Reporting on safety performance and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting regulatory compliance across all site activities
  • Keeping the business updated on changes to state and federal EHS legislation
