I'm representing a well financed renewable energy developer in their search for an Environmental Planner.
About the Role
You will be responsible for coordinating and advising on planning and environmental permit/approval applications, to support the development of utility scale renewable energy projects. Ideally, you will come from a planning background (environmental, renewable energy, town planning etc) and will be comfortable evaluating EIS and DA documents.
Key responsibilities
- Co-ordinate and advise on planning and environmental permit/approval applications
- Evaluate EIS and DA documentation.
- Work with the senior managers to assist with site identification and front end renewable energy development duties
- Monitor environmental policy legislation, national and regional planning frameworks and relevant technical information
- Support or lead effective and meaningful interactions with key project stakeholders at all stages of project lifecycle
- Degree in Planning, Environmental or other related discipline
- Experience in a planning and environmental role with a focus on infrastructure development
- Renewable energy experience an advantage but not essential (environmental, infrastructure, town planning etc also valued)
- Experience in dealing with regulatory authorities and other stakeholders on complex issues
- Demonstrated understanding of planning and environmental requirements on large infrastructure projects
- Competitive salary; between $140-180k + super (depending on experience)
