About the Role
As the WHS Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all workers, visitors, and future occupants throughout the build. This role involves conducting regular site inspections, identifying and mitigating hazards, ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, and promoting a strong safety culture among the construction team. The Safety Advisor collaborates closely with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to implement effective safety plans and procedures, aiming to deliver the project safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. 
 
Duties
  • Support continuous improvement by contributing to lessons learned and safety initiatives.
  • Provide daily environmental, safety, and occupational health advice and support to site teams and management.
  • Implement and enforce the site’s EHS plan and company safety procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and reviews to ensure compliance with safety policies and performance indicators.
  • Prepare accurate EHS reports for internal tracking and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor adherence to company and client quality and safety standards at service sites.
  • Stay updated on changes to relevant WHS laws and regulations, advising on necessary adjustments to company standards.
  • Lead incident and post-incident investigations in accordance with legislative and company requirements.
  • Maintain all safety and quality records, including risk registers and hazard assessments.
 
To be successful you will need to have the below requirements
  • A Cert IV in WHS or equivalent Level Qualification
  • Minimum of 4 years WHS experience within construciton 
  • Solid site-based HSE experience preferably within commercial construction
  • Must have experience working on construction projects within active school environments
  • Solid knowledge of QHSE processes and relevant Australian safety legislation
  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to working in compliance with OH&S Legislation 
  • Strong administrative skills including competency with MS Word, Excel, and SharePoint (desirable)
  • A current unrestricted Australian Driver’s License with the ability to travel to site as required
