About the Role

Seeking a motivated and technically skilled Electrical Engineer to support the development of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Australia. This is a hands-on role working closely with internal and external stakeholders to advance projects from site origination through to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects from feasibility through to delivery.
  • Conduct site assessments, layout design, and energy yield modelling using pvDesign and other tools.
  • Provide technical input into site selection, concept design, and system optimisation.
  • Prepare technical specifications, equipment selections, and design documentation to support EPC tendering and delivery.
  • Collaborate with the in-house EPC team to manage design scope, interfaces, and timelines.
  • Support construction and commissioning by ensuring design intent is delivered and providing technical input as needed.
  • Ensure designs meet Australian Standards and project-specific requirements.
  • Coordinate with consultants and suppliers to validate design and improve system performance.
  • Represent the design function in internal and external stakeholder meetings.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Electrical, Renewable, or Power Systems Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 3+ years’ experience in utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects, ideally in Australia.
  • Strong knowledge of renewable systems, design, and EPC processes.
  • Proven skills in project planning, scoping, estimating, and scheduling.
  • Familiar with AEMO, NER, GPS processes, and grid connection studies.
  • Willingness to travel to remote and international sites.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with pvDesign by RatedPower highly regarded.
