Senior Power Systems Engineer - join a specialist consultancy that’s helping shape the next generation of the Australian energy landscape. Working alongside a close knit team of engineers (SCADA, power systems, and renewables specialists), you’ll lead and support complex grid connection studies for some of the country’s most innovative utility-scale projects.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on deep technical work, enjoys working directly with developers and NSPs, and wants to make a visible impact across the R0 to R2 submission process.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver power systems studies, including load flow, fault level, dynamic and harmonic assessments (PSSE, PSCAD, DIgSILENT, or similar).
- Support and prepare technical documentation for NEM grid connection (R0, R1, R2).
- Collaborate with SCADA and control engineers to ensure fully integrated solutions.
- Interface with AEMO, NSPs, OEMs, and project developers to resolve complex technical issues.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers across modelling and study best practices.
- Stay at the forefront of NEM rule changes and technical standards.
What You'll Need
- Degree-qualified in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering
- 5+ years’ experience in power system studies, preferably with Australian NEM exposure.
- Proficiency in tools such as PSS®E, PSCAD, PowerFactory, or EMT-type modelling platforms.
- Strong understanding of generator performance standards and connection requirements.
