About the Role:

The Sales Engineer plays a pivotal role in supporting business growth by leveraging deep technical expertise in transmission lines and substations to promote and sell large-scale grid infrastructure solutions. Working closely with the Head of Business Development, this role involves engaging with utilities, EPCs, and government stakeholders, delivering technically compelling proposals, and converting project opportunities by understanding both the engineering and commercial aspects of high-voltage infrastructure projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to identify infrastructure project opportunities and develop engagement strategies, while tracking market activity and industry trends in the transmission and substation sectors.
  • Engage with clients to understand their technical requirements for high-voltage substations, overhead/underground transmission lines, and grid interconnection solutions.
  • Prepare detailed technical proposals and presentations that emphasize the engineering and operational advantages of the company’s substation and transmission offerings.
  • Work closely with internal engineering teams to develop and customize transmission and substation designs that meet client specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead technical aspects of the sales cycle including tender submissions, project scoping, bid clarifications, and commercial discussions.
  • Assist in negotiating technical contracts and commercial terms to ensure alignment with client expectations and grid standards.
  • Provide pre-sales technical support, including system design input, feasibility assessments, and solution recommendations tailored to utility-grade infrastructure.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 3 years of technical sales experience in transmission lines, substations, or utility-scale grid infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of substation design (AIS/GIS), HV/MV systems, protection schemes, and transmission line design and construction.
  • Familiarity with grid connection standards, SCADA/EMS systems, and utility interconnection processes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey technical solutions to both technical and commercial audiences.
