Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Associate or Senior Associate Consultant to join a team specialising in occupational hygiene and hazardous materials management. The role involves assessing workplace exposures, supporting compliance with health and safety legislation, and delivering practical, risk-based solutions to clients.
This position offers flexibility, the opportunity to work with experienced specialists, and exposure to a wide range of industries including education, government, infrastructure, retail, logistics, energy, research, and financial services.
Your Responsibilities In this role, you’ll be a key contributor to both technical delivery and team leadership. You'll help guide the delivery of services while maintaining quality standards and fostering a proactive and collaborative team environment.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Conducting risk assessments for a variety of occupational health hazards such as respirable dusts, chemical agents, noise, vibration, asbestos, biological materials, and indoor air quality
- Using industry-standard equipment and methodologies to assess workplace exposures
- Performing indoor air quality investigations and interpreting findings
- Recommending control strategies to mitigate identified risks
- Overseeing hazardous materials remediation works and providing technical supervision
- Advising clients on health risks, supported by experienced senior specialists and certified professionals
- Collaborating with project teams across various disciplines
- Developing and reviewing clear, detailed technical documentation and reports
- Supporting staff development and contributing to mentoring initiatives
- Assisting with client engagement, strategic planning, and identifying new opportunities
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a knowledgeable and adaptable consultant with a solid background in occupational hygiene and hazardous materials. You enjoy problem-solving, are detail-oriented, and have a strong client focus.
Key requirements:
- Approximately 10+ years’ experience in occupational hygiene, hazardous materials, or related fields
- Previous consulting or advisory experience
- Solid grasp of occupational risk management principles and current regulatory frameworks
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to a variety of stakeholders
- Proven capability in technical report writing and data interpretation
- Track record of contributing to project proposals and business development
- Willingness to travel for field work, including occasional weekend or after-hours projects
- Australian Driver’s License
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Health, or Science
- NSW Licensed Asbestos Assessor (LAA) accreditation is desirable but not essential
