I'm representing a recognised name in the solar world in their search for an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Engineer, to support a number of existing solar farms.
About the Role
You will come from an electrical/PV engineering background and will be motivated to develop your career in the operations of solar farm projects. Training will be provided but previous Solar PV/operations experience will be highly regarded. You should have flexibility to be based on site when required and must be able to speak Mandarin.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyse daily generation data to ensure optimal performance of solar farm assets.
- Troubleshoot and resolve faults in key systems including inverters, transformers, trackers, SCADA, LVSB, HVSB, and static var generators (SVG).
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules; generate monthly and annual O&M performance reports.
- Coordinate with contractors for equipment repairs, replacements, and vegetation management; ensure work is delivered to quality standards.
- Prepare and enforce Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and promote strong onsite safety culture.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/PV/Mechanical Engineering (or relevant)
- Minimum 1 year experience, ideally in PV, electrical infrastructure or inverters
- Strong computer skills; familiarity with PLC and SCADA systems is advantageous.
- HV Switching Ticket desirable
- Full Australian Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel
- High attention to detail, safety-focused, and a team player with strong communication skills.
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin
