I'm representing a well financed developer and asset owner of renewable energy projects, in their search for a Development Manager.
About the Role
I'm seeking a Development Manager with an initial focus on BESS/Solar PV (projects in early stages), with some potential for wind as well. They're open to different backgrounds (enviro/planning/engineering etc) as long as you've been directly involved in renewable energy development. You will be joining a small but efficient team, so will need to be comfortable working autonomously. There's plenty of scope for professional development as the company goes through an exciting growth phase.
Responsibilities
- Support the Development team throughout the planning and development phases; site identification, environmental approvals, grid connection etc.
- Manage external consultants across a range of disciplines; technical/grid/enviro etc.
- Assist in conducting site assessments and feasibility studies to evaluate project potential.
- Manage and organize project documentation, permits, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in stakeholder engagement and community outreach efforts.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Environmental Science, Business).
- Direct renewable energy development experience (PV/BESS/Wind etc)
- Knowledge of the approvals process for renewable projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with a range of stakeholders
- Commercial acumen
- Willingness to travel
