About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Specialist to play a key role in driving safety performance across the business. You’ll work closely with operational teams and senior leadership, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and fostering a proactive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety systems tailored to renewable energy projects, including solar and wind farms, and energy storage facilities.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments focused on the specific safety challenges within renewable energy construction and operations.
- Deliver targeted safety training and toolbox talks addressing risks such as electrical hazards, working at heights, and environmental factors unique to renewable energy sites.
- Lead investigations into incidents and near misses, ensuring thorough analysis and effective preventative actions are applied.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to uphold health and safety standards aligned with the company’s commitment to safe and sustainable project delivery.
- Monitor compliance with Australian WHS legislation and industry best practices, driving continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Champion a positive safety culture that supports the company’s vision of responsible renewable energy development.
To Be Successful:
- Diploma in Work Health and Safety (or higher)
- Proven experience in health and safety within renewable energy, construction, or closely related industries.
- In-depth knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and specific safety requirements for renewable energy projects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders across all levels.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Highly proactive, detail-oriented, and skilled at identifying and resolving safety challenges efficiently.
