I'm partnering with a leading Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) developer to find an experienced Contracts Manager for a 6-month contract role based in Melbourne. This is a hands-on position managing contracts across three concurrent BESS projects, supporting the successful delivery of large-scale energy infrastructure.

 This role is ideal for a commercially astute professional with a strong background in engineering and construction, who can confidently manage complex contracts in a fast-paced project delivery environment. You’ll act as the commercial point of contact between the developer and key delivery partners, ensuring contractual integrity and performance across all sites.
Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and manage multiple contracts (EPC, D&C) from execution through to project delivery
• Work closely with engineering, construction, legal, and procurement teams
• Manage contractor performance, variations, extensions of time, and claims
• Ensure all contractual obligations are being met on time and to budget
• Identify risks and opportunities and implement mitigation strategies

Required Experience:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Contracts Manager or Commercial Manager role
• Proven experience working on engineering and construction projects – ideally in renewables, infrastructure, utilities, or large-scale energy (BESS highly regarded)
• In-depth understanding of Australian contract law, project delivery, and construction procurement
• Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
• Ability to operate independently and manage multiple concurrent contracts
