About the Role
The HSEQ Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and improving health, safety, environment, and quality systems across the organisation. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and fostering a strong safety culture across all projects.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the integrated Quality, Health and Safety, and Environmental management system to ensure compliance with current legislation and regulations.
- Assist the HSEQ Manager in reviewing and updating policies and procedures regularly.
- Support the development and maintenance of project-specific management plans.
- Conduct regular site visits, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance with management system requirements.
- Assist in developing and delivering training programs to enhance HSEQ awareness and competencies.
- Ensure incidents, near misses, and hazards are reported, documented, and investigated promptly.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and a proactive approach to safety.
- Represent the company professionally when engaging with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety (mandatory).
- Certificate IV in Environmental Management (desirable).
- Experience working in the civil construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and FSC-compliant systems.
- Familiarity with ISO standards (9001:2015, 45001:2018, 14001:2016).
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Procore, 1Breadcrumb, and iAuditor.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.
- Current Driver’s Licence and General Safety Induction (White Card).
- First Aid certification and Auditor / Lead Auditor training (desirable).
