We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a leading packaging company based near Villawood. This casual position is ideal for a proactive and skilled tradesperson looking for consistent work on an afternoon shift roster.
 
Position Details:

• Shift: 2pm – 10pm (Afternoon Shift)
• Hourly Rate: Up to $61.81 per hour (inclusive of casual loading)
• Employment Type: Casual (temp2perm), ongoing opportunity

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on packaging machinery and production equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical faults and carry out repairs to minimise downtime
• Conduct routine inspections and adjustments to ensure optimal performance of equipment
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth operation of packaging lines
• Adhere to all health, safety, and quality standards
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation

Requirements:

• Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent
• Proven experience working as a Mechanical Fitter in a manufacturing or packaging environment
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with conveyors, pneumatic systems, and automated machinery
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Commitment to workplace health and safety
