The Company

Our client is an international plumbing company that has been operating for over 25 years.  They are currently working on a number of large construction and infrastructure projects around Sydney. Due to an increased workload and a strong pipeline of projects they are looking at hiring a Junior Accountant.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, or 1-2 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Duties
  • Assist with the preparation and processing of invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports.
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
  • Month-end review and variance analysis of profit & loss statements.
  • Support payroll processing, including timesheet verification and payroll data entry.
  • Monthly accounts reconciliations for Balance Sheets, Bank Accounts, Trade Debtors and General Ledgers, any discrepancies.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Maintain accurate and organised financial records.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed.
  • Assist in preparing quarterly BAS, FBT and liaising with internal and External stakeholders.
