About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Plant Mechanic / Diesel fitter to join our team in Western Sydney. As an essential member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of plant, machinery, and equipment, with a strong emphasis on CAT machines, which are central to our operations. This is a hands-on role where your skills and experience in the civil construction sector will ensure our machinery runs at optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular maintenance and repairs on a range of plant and equipment, including rollers, diggers, and excavators, with a focus on CAT machinery.
- Act on work orders and verbal instructions to inspect, assess, and test machinery.
- Interpret work orders, technical diagrams, manuals, and specifications to ensure effective repairs and service.
- Ensure all service and maintenance work is completed in line with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
- Work collaboratively with site teams to ensure the timely completion of tasks.
- Use PPE as required and maintain compliance with safety standards at all times.
- 5+ years of experience working as a Plant Mechanic / Mechanical Fitter, specifically in civil construction.
- Extensive experience working on CAT machinery (e.g., rollers, excavators, diggers) is essential.
- Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering or Hydraulics (or equivalent experience).
- Valid Driver’s Licence.
- Relevant high-risk tickets (EWP, forklift, etc.) and a valid White Card.
- Ability to interpret and apply technical plans, diagrams, and manuals.
- Full Australian work rights and the ability to travel when required.
