About the Role
Based at the Melbourne head office, you will report to the Commercial Project Manager and collaborate with the broader Project Management teams. As a Project Controller, you’ll play a critical role in managing reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and supply chain financial processes, including purchase orders, invoicing, and payments. This position also involves liaising with international departments and providing commercial support to project teams. It’s ideal for professionals eager to grow their expertise in renewable energy, financial management, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Commercial Project Managers on reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Oversee cost-controlling activities for projects and cost centers in partnership with site and project management teams.
- Ensure accurate reporting of non-conformance costs (NCC) for projects.
- Proactively engage with customers to ensure timely invoice payments.
- Prepare incentive and escalation calculations in line with contractual requirements.
- Manage month-end close processes, including ad hoc analysis and P&L and balance sheet reporting.
- Maintain up-to-date project financial data, enhancing forecast accuracy and driving measures to meet financial targets.
- Partner with Project Managers to identify and implement margin improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and financial guidelines.
- Manage spare part orders, aftermarket sales, and service contract invoicing.
- Provide documentation for audits and ensure financial statements reflect an accurate and fair view.
- Uphold compliance with Financial Reporting Guidelines, Risk and Internal Control (RIC) processes, and local GAAP standards.
About You
To excel in this role, you will bring:
- Previous experience in Accounting or Financial Management positions
- 2+ years of experience in project controlling, including cost control, forecasting, budgeting, accounting, reporting, and Forex management.
- Proficiency in SAP, particularly in Project Management and Financial Controlling modules.
- Strong understanding of POC (Percentage of Completion) accounting.
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills.
